Did you know Libelle is German for Dragonfly.......
Andrea Hopkins LPC, LCSW, MAC, BCD
I am from Philomath, OR but have traveled the world due to family being from Germany and also through my military service. I have a great appreciation for diversity, experiences, lived life, gustitorial ventures and 80's music(just to name a few.)

Growing up I was raised by my mother as my father died when I was 4. I think from that point on my path was somewhat shaped and some life lessons were learned early on that shaped me and who I am.
Some Examples:
Life is fleeting and nothing is for sure and there is no normal;
Secrets kill;
A single mom(parent) can be more of a super hero than any you will find in fantasy;
Hearts do mend but it takes time;

Appreciate each day for what it is and live in each moment......good and bad because life is a gift.

I feel a profound connection to nature and enjoy helping others connect and harmonize with the world around them in a variety of ways. Due to my travels and love of nature, I came to find that my totem is the Dragonfly or Odanata Family. My logo embodies all that I am, all that I want to be and all that I hope for those around me.

COUNSELING: In my work I may use totem/spirit animals to help a person connect to some part of themselves, I may use the environment as a change agent or we may just use experiential modalities to foster the healing connection (art, crafting, mindfulness, meditation, gardening)........the sky is the limit and maybe not even then.

CONSULTATION: I have a wide variety of experiences and trainings that I bring to the table when considering the consultative process. Not only do I have dual licensures as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, but I am also a Masters Addiction Counselor. I also have 20+ years of doing military mental health both state side and on deployments (combat included.) I have used Traumatic Event Management or Critical Incident Stress Management in the field and have done trauma treatment while in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have worked in the VA Medical system, Vet Center, National Guard and a wide variety of other employments. I also rely heavily on my background in biology and my strong passion and connection to the environment.

SUPERVISION: We all benefit when we have the ability to share with each other and learn and grow from one another. I offer both group and individual supervision. I believe that the collaborative effort and shared experience offers the best environment for becoming a professional in the helping field. None of us operate in a vacuum and it can be a lonely and at times difficult experience as you work towards licensure or completing your education. I can supervise anyone in the process of obtaining their license or in the process of obtaining their hours for their schooling. This is a collaborative effort and I look forward to helping guide decisions and processes and professional growth. I have worked in a variety of locations and with a wide variety of clients/people/those seeking services. I would be honored to walk with you as you embark on becoming a mental health provider.
